A design that tells a story.

The Iconic Silhouette of Legacy and Hope: At the heart of the design is the famous silhouette of Dame Whina Cooper and her mokopuna - Irenee Cooper, walking hand-in-hand during the 1975 Māori Land March. This image is now symbolic of intergenerational leadership and the enduring fight for land and justice.

A Powerful Tribute to Māori Sovereignty: The signatures in the background represent those from the 1975 Memorial of Rights, a powerful petition that affirmed Māori commitment to Tino Rangatiratanga – the unceded sovereignty of Māori over their lands, people, and taonga.
